The Yellow Cabomba is a popular aquarium plant which exists in generally acidic lakes, ponds, and rivers in regions in both North and South America.

Under bright lights, the stems can easily reach the surface of an average-sized aquarium in a short time. Although CO2 is not required, it will boost growth if added. It can be easily propagated like other stem plants via cuttings.

In aquascaping, this species is most effectively placed in the background.
