Echinodorus angustifolius is a tall "chain sword" native to Brazil. Although it is a new addition to the hobby, it looks set to become common in a short time.

Strong lights and good nutrients will help this plant stay shorter. It propagates by runners and frequent trimming is necessary once growth has taken off.

This plant is not suitable for foreground carpets but is used to replace the commonly available Vallisneria species in an aquarium.
